Daily hints and answers for any seven-letter hive
Free AI Spelling Bee Solver
Enter the seven letters, mark the center, and choose how much help you want. Spoiler-free hints, every dictionary word, pangrams, ranks, and an AI coach.
Independent hive helper. Not affiliated with The New York Times, and not a source of that newspaper’s official answers.
Solve a hive without more help than you asked for
HiveMate is a free spelling bee solver for seven-letter hive puzzles. Type the letters, put the required letter in the gold center, and pick a level of help. Hints tell you where the words are without naming them. Answers list every dictionary word that fits, with points and pangrams marked.
An AI coach sits beside the dictionary. Ask it for a spoiler-free nudge, a definition, or why a real word might still be rejected. The word finder itself is a dictionary, not a guess, so the counts and the point total stay exact. HiveMate is an independent helper. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or supplied answers by The New York Times, and it does not republish any newspaper’s official word list.
Spelling bee tools
Every tool uses the same hive. Hints stay spoiler-free. Answers stay on their own page. Nothing here is a calculator.
Everything you need for a hive puzzle
Spoiler-free hints
See how many words, pangrams and points are in the hive, plus a first-letter grid and a two-letter list, before you ever see a word.
AAnswers with points
Reveal every dictionary word that uses the center letter. Pangrams are highlighted and each word shows its score.
PPangram finder
Jump straight to the words that use all seven letters. Those are the ones worth an extra seven points.
CAI word coach
Ask for a hint that does not list the answers, a plain-English definition, or an explanation when a word will not score.
How the spelling bee solver works
Set the hive
Tap the gold hex and type the center letter, then fill the six outer letters. You can also paste seven letters. A single capital letter is treated as the center.
Choose a level of help
Hints keeps the words hidden and shows counts, lengths and prefixes. Answers opens the list.
Ask the coach when you stall
The AI coach reads the counts, not a spoiler sheet. It suggests where to look next, defines a word you already found, and explains rejected guesses.

Frequently asked questions
How do I use HiveMate to solve a spelling bee?
Enter the seven letters from the puzzle. The letter in the gold hex is the center and must appear in every word. Then choose Hints for counts only, or Answers for the full dictionary list.
Will this show today’s newspaper answers?
No. HiveMate does not store or publish any newspaper’s official solutions. It solves the letters you type, using a dictionary and the public hive rules. Newspaper lists are shorter, so some real words here may not be accepted there.
What is a pangram?
A pangram uses all seven letters at least once. It scores one point per letter, then seven extra points. A perfect pangram is seven letters long and uses each hive letter once.
How does scoring work?
Four-letter words score 1 point. Longer words score 1 point per letter. Pangrams add 7. Queen Bee is the maximum score. Genius is 70 percent of that maximum.
What does the AI coach do?
It explains strategy from the hint grid, defines words, and tells you why a guess failed the rules. It does not replace the dictionary, and it will not dump the full answer list.
Why was my word rejected?
Usual reasons: fewer than four letters, missing the center letter, or a letter from outside the hive. If it is a real word and still missing, the puzzle’s editor may have skipped proper nouns, hyphenated words, or obscure terms.
Does the newspaper puzzle use the letter S?
The well-known daily hive puzzle has never included S, which is why ordinary plurals are rare. HiveMate still accepts S if you type it, so the solver also works for homemade hives.
Is HiveMate free?
Yes. Hints, answers, pangrams and the AI coach are free in the browser. No account is required.
HiveMate is not affiliated with The New York Times. It does not publish that newspaper’s official answers.
